RedfeatherBeing a leader was new to Finchstar, and it was confusing. Since the old leader of Moonclan died, she didn't have anyone to look for advice, except Redfeather. Finchstar felt like she made the right choice when she declared the new deputy, but she didn't know him much, so that's why she decided to try and have a conversation with him. "Hey, Redfeather, can I talk to you?"

((Redfeather is female btw))
Redfeather had been mildly surprised by her appointment to deputy.
Sure, she fit the requirements. She'd trained apprentices before and saw them to warriorhood. But deputy? That was a whole other deal. Heck, the deputy becomes leader when the leader kicks it! It was basically saying that you thought she'd make a good leader one day when Finchstar died a grand total of nine times!
Not that Redfeather had declined. It was just... She would've figured someone else would come to mind. When cats thought of Redfeather, they usually didn't think leader-like. At least, that's what Redfeather thought.
Her ears perked up and she turned to see Finchstar. The red furred she-cat wore a cocky grin on her face. "Well, you kinda just did."

(Crud.)
Finchstar smiled at the deputy, flicking an ear. "Oh... Yeah. How have you been doing." She asked happily. She wondered what Redfeather was like, the only thing that she really knew was that she could make a good deputy from one of the cats she knew.

Redfeather shrugged, her tail flicked to the other side from where it'd been resting on the ground behind her.
"Oh.... This.... That.... Y'know. The usual." She replied with a calm smile. This normally may be comforting, or reassuring, but her smiles were always tinged with a mischievous undertone. "Hanging around, hunting, meeting our neighbor's leader, and observing the scenery." She shot off the list casually, as if she did not add a strange item in the list.

Finchstar flinched a little as Redfeather listed the usual. She shouldn't be surprised, cats are always obsessed with borders, so of course there was going to be meetings. It was just border battles that bothered her. "Oh, that's nice. Which leader?" She asked casually.
("Oh hey, you met our enemy, that's okay, as long as you didn't kill them.")

Redfeather had seen Finchstar flinch.
However, she didn't let it show outwardly. "Mm... Sagestar." She replied simply. Redfeather was a bit... Different. She knew cats obsessed with borders, but she was one of the cats who didn't see much of a difference between the cats of the various clans, aside from different living environments and different histories. She didn't think it mattered that much. She didn't talk about her opinion much, though.

"Huh, cool." Finchstar smiled, she hadn't met the leader formally, nor with the other leaders, except Plague maybe. It would be nice to meet them at the next gathering. "What is she like? I've never met her, but I've heard gossip." She asked, shrugging.

Redfeather shrugged.
"She seems decent enough." She began. "We talked for a while and it was a pleasant conversation." 'If a bit strange.' She added privately to herself. Then she exhaled. She figured she should just ask the question now. "Hey, Finchstar? Why'd you choose me as your deputy?" She did wonder, after all.

Finchstar smiled, happy to hear praise for the leader, but she started flicking her tail as Redfeather continued. "You were requested as a choice, I... Spectated some of your training sessions with your former apprentice, and I was impressed. I'm glad to have chose you."
(Finch is basically implying she stalked Red for a bit, great job)

Redfeather blinked.
She was... Requested? Who would've done that? The only cat she figured still kind of liked her at least a little... No. He was gone. He was definitely no longer in Moonclan at least. He wouldn't have been able to suggest her as a choice for deputy.
She had an amused look on her face as she cocked her head. "You were stalking me and my apprentice?" She asked, her amusement clear. Though, privately she was a little wary. She kind of... Called Emberleap brat instead of her name, as a sort of affectionate sort of thing. But she was aware it might not be viewed as such by a third party. "So.... Who exactly recommended me?" She wanted to know if there was a cat left in Moonclan who still... Thought she was a decent cat.
